The International Towards 2010 Process 1. Scottish Process 2002-2010 The initial driving forces behind the Towards 2010 were The Church of Scotland and the University of Edinburgh - under the leadership of Dr. Kenneth Ross. Since 2002 a Scottish committee has hosted annual conferences in Edinburgh relating to each of the Edinburgh 1910 commissions. 2. June 2005 - Towards 2010International Group In June 2005 an Interim Council consisting of a group of key representatives in Christian mission and mission studies were invited for an initial discussion in Edinburgh. In preparation for this meeting, Ken Ross produced a background paper on the1910 Conference - Its place in History and outlined the Possibilities in a Towards 2010 Process The participants of the Interim Council worked on key themes to be studied towards 2010. From that meeting the Interim Council issued a first version of the Mission in Humility and Hope vision paper. 3. July 2006 - Stakeholder Meeting In July 2006 key stake holders, who had indicated interest in Towards 2010 met in Edinburgh. At that meeting the process was further consolidated. It was decided to plan for a Centenary Event in Edinburgh 12-16 June 2010 at the original site of This event is not to be seen as the only and primary 2010 event. But it will serve as the formal centenary celebration of Edinburgh 1910. Minutes from the July 2006 Stakeholder Meeting 4. April 2007 Dr. Daryl Balia, South Africa commences on the job as Director for Towards 2010. He will be based at the Divinity School at the University of Edinburgh. 5. 17-20.
